Neutrik has developed a “unisex” XLR cable connector, dubbed the ConvertCon.
With ConvertCon, it is possible to convert the connector from male to female and vice versa simply by sliding the connector housing back and forth. No additional adapter is necessary. The three-pole ConvertCon features gold contacts and simplified termination onto the cables.
The ConvertCon won a Radio World Cool Stuff Award at the 2008 NAB Show, and is demonstrated in a Radio World CoolCast video.
