New SiriusXM Channel Is Devoted to Soccer

It launches Monday

U.S. sports fans may have noticed the increasing amount of ink and airtime that soccer is getting in sports magazines and broadcasts.

Now Sirius XM Radio will devote a channel to the subject.

“SiriusXM FC” starts Monday on Channel 94, promising “soccer talk and play-by-play 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

Content will include play-by-play broadcasts from the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup, and matches from the Major League Soccer playoffs. Barclays Premier League matches are from talkSport, a network out of England. UEFA and FA Cup matches are provided by Fox Soccer.

Senior VP of Sports Programming Steve Cohen in the announcement cited growing demand for soccer coverage.

Daily programming will include “The Football Show” each morning with John Harkes, Ray Hudson, Charlie Stillitano and Neil Barnett. Sirius XM also will pick up several programs from talkSport.
