The Society of Broadcast Engineers redesigned its program that is intended to help engineers develop leadership skills.
The SBE Leadership Development Course is now an “intense” three-day program and will be held in early August in Atlanta. The instructor is Rodney C. Vandeveer, who teaches leadership at Purdue University.
“Topics in this year’s course include understanding the dynamics of leadership, a self-assessment study, which identifies an individual’s leadership behavior, effective motivation methods, building winning teams, how leadership is an attitude and more,” SBE stated.
The updated program costs $580 and is limited to 30 people; registration deadline is July 5.
The course was announced by President Vincent Lopez, who commented in the announcement on the importance of “being a positive influence on co-workers, an effective manager and a true team player.”
Travel, meals and accommodations are extra.
