Greater Media Inc. CEO Peter Smyth was elected vice-chairman of the Radio Advertising Bureau board of directors, on which he has served for five years. He begins his new duties on Jan. 1.
Smyth joined Greater Media in 1986 as general manager of WMJX(FM) in Boston, and was appointed vice president/general manager the following year. He was later promoted to the positions of senior vice president/regional general manager, group vice president of radio and chief operating officer; and was named president and CEO in 2002.
In addition to the RAB, Smyth served on the board of NAB and served as the chair of its Spectrum Task Force. He also is a member of the board of Emerson College, and a trustee and past president of the New England Media Association.
