TuneIn, formerly called RadioTime, made several announcements recently concerning its Internet radio apps.
A new version of its Android app TuneIn Radio Pro, which offers connectivity to Internet radio stations, has added the ability to record, rewind and pause radio streams. The app is available for 99 cents at the Amazon Appstore for Android. The company also is debuting a free TuneIn Radio app for iPhone and iPad users.
Thus it now offers app versions for both iPhone and Android in a choice of free (listen only) and Pro (with the record functions). TuneIn’s directory also includes thousands of podcasts.
A final bit of news from TuneIn included the farewell to the RadioTime brand name. It’s now TuneIn, all the time.
TuneIn founder and CEO Bill Moore said: “With a free option for iOS plus pause and recording for our Android users, we’re addressing two key customer requests … Plus, the new TuneIn.com provides the same selection as our apps, so users can listen with a browser, manage their presets and find more information about their favorite stations, on-air personalities, sports teams and artists.”
