VDT Prepares Tonmeistertagung

Taking place 13-16 November, the biennial event will include both a conference program and an exhibition, both hosted in the Leipzig Congress Center.

The tonmeisters of the Verband Deutscher Tonmeister (VDT) return to Leipzig, Germany, this autumn for the 25th Tonmeistertagung international sound convention.

Taking place 13–16 November, the biennial event will include both a conference program and an exhibition, both hosted in the Leipzig Congress Center.

The 25th Tonmeistertagung intends, as in previous editions, to provide in-depth insights into the latest trends in product development, research and practical applications.

Sound design will remain a key focus at the November gathering, with “Audio Meets Video” — the banner for the 2006 Tonmeistertagung — also figuring prominently in the 2008 conference program.

The event program also includes issues such as quality in audio coding, the influence of new high-definition formats on the workflow, format conversion, DRM and aesthetic aspects of analog and digital technology in sound.

The 24th edition in 2006 attracted a total of 3,500 participants and included 87 lectures and poster presentations, 11 round tables and 65 workshops and demonstrations. In addition, 233 exhibitors took part in the Tonmeistertagung exhibition.
