WestwoodOne to Syndicate Oldies

Syndicated oldies format to showcase hits of the 1960s and ’70s

The first syndicated format to come out of the WestwoodOne/Cumulus Media merge is “Good Time Oldies,” to be available via satellite April 28.

According to a release it “will feature music from the golden era of pop, rock and soul — centering on hit music from the 60s and 70s — and positioned slightly earlier than traditional adult hits-formatted stations.”

Stations may take the format straight or adopt it to their own use. Each station will receive an imaging package containing national Good Time Oldies branding and parts to create their own branding package.

Content will consist of packaged personality shows and specials such as “History of Rock & Roll Time Machine,” “The Rock & Roll Calendar,” “Where Are They Now?” and “The 60-Second News Capsule.”

Personalities available include major market vets such as Jim Zippo, John Summers and Kevan Downing, who is currently working on WestwoodOne’s Classic Hits format.
