From our “Who’s Buying What” page … Colombian news and information network Blu Radio is once again upgrading its main studios. Since its founding in 2012, the Bogatá-based station has worked with ASPA Andina to keep its studios operating efficiently and flexibly. To this end, Blu Radio recently replaced the DHD Audio 53-MX console and 52-SX surfaces installed in its main studio in 2017 with new DHD RX2 and SX2 systems.

“The main studio modernization gives Blu Radio’s production team a wide range of powerful new resources designed to maximize operational efficiency and flexibility,” according to William Herrera, senior technical support engineer at ASPA Andina in Colombia.

Herrera noted that Blu Radio has more than 14 control surfaces with DHD modules across the county, along with a centralized matrix with more than 500 physical I/O for analog audio, digital audio, and MADI data.

As part of the latest modernization effort, Blu Radio implemented a DHD TX2 control surface to support its new Visual Radio service on YouTube. “This is fully integrated with the network’s current DHD system, including multiple audio channels over IP through the Audinate Dante protocol,” stated Herrera.
