From the Radio World “Who’s Buying What” page: In the Philippines, FBS Radio Network’s Mellow 94.7 chose Broadcast Electronics for its transmitter upgrade.
BE supplier TechTwist Corporation worked with FBS Radio on the planning and installation of a BE ETX 25000, a 25 kW FM transmitter. The station broadcasts from the heart of Metro Manila, the nation’s capital and its second-most populous city. The station is operated by Prage Management Corporation and has the callsign DWLL.
According to TechTwist, Manila’s tropical climate made energy efficiency and reduced air conditioning loads a key factor in the equipment selection process.
Gerald Cabrillos of Ergaxia-Philippines, who oversaw the installation, said that the transmitter’s compact design allows 25 kW of power to be housed in a single cabinet, saving space compared to other systems.
Mellow 94.7 airs English-language soft adult contemporary music and also simulcasts the Filipino language primetime newscast, Agenda.
