Seventeen people attended the sixth Radio Engineering Class
given by our friends at the Alabama Broadcasters
Association’s Engineering Academy. I have shared with you my admiration for ABA for establishing this program and my thought that other state associations would do well to emulate it.
Wilkins tells me that the students this time came from Alabama, Pennsylvania, Missouri and
Kentucky. See the class photo below.
academy will host a special “Engineering Day” during the ABA summer convention
on Saturday Aug. 16 in Birmingham. Four presentations will be offered about audio
and video over IP, with speakers from Comrex, Wheatstone, TVU Networks and
GatesAir. A television class is slated for early September. In addition to its regular engineering classes the academy has
hosted several one-day seminars on topics like IP fundamentals and HD Radio.
