“Deploying Artist Experience (Album Art) via HD Radio” is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern.
Artist Experience is a feature of HD Radio, in which the audio is synchronized with visual elements like album art and displayed on the receiver.
Clear Channel Media + Entertainment’s Alan Jurison is presenting the topic which will include an overview intended for both managers and engineers, a technical discussion for those who want to implement AE, as well as time for questions and answers. Jurison, who’s a senior operations engineer and also a Radio World contributor, will discuss receivers with the AE feature available now and those to come. Much of his recent focus has been on deploying and advancing Clear Channel’s HD Radio data services.
Jurison will detail his experience with the HD Radio implementations of Artist Experience in the 2013 GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse vehicles in a story contained in an upcoming issue of Radio World. “The tuning knob, volume controls and touch screen are responsive. It’s easy and intuitive to set an HD1 or HD2 station as a favorite,” according to Jurison.
Regarding the Artist Experience aspects of the receiver, he writes: “With the station logos acquired, the receiver transitions seamlessly from an album art image for a song, to the station logo, and into the next song’s album art image.”
