Entercom Names McCann to Lead New Content Group

Will work on content development, programming and syndication efforts

Radio broadcaster Entercom Communications has launched a new “Content Innovation Group.” The company says it will be led by Managing Editor Kyle McCann, who will report to Vice President of Programming Innovation Liana Huth.

The group will also include three content managers: Lauren Hoffman, previously a country music blogger and an entertainment reporter for The Journal magazine in New Jersey; Joe Hyer, a former member of Townsquare Media’s digital content team; and Maura O’Malley, former senior content editor and social media community manager for Main Street Hub in Austin, Texas. Entercom President of Programming Pat Paxton will also supervise the new group from the top level.

Huth explained the team “will be focused on pushing out exclusive and original new content as well as pulling compelling and engaging local content to enhance the local listener experience.” They will also “leverage” the local content produced by stations in Entercom’s 28 markets for broadcaster, digital and social audiences, emphasizing engagement.

McCann joins Entercom from Townsquare Media in New Jersey, where he led content development and previously served as a senior news producer at Fox Television’s WTFX(TV) in Philadelphia, Hearst’s WBAL(TV) and Scripps Networks’ WMAR(TV), both in Baltimore.
