Field Chosen for National Radio Award

Entercom Communications Pres./CEO will be recognized at the Radio Luncheon in Austin

The 2017 National Radio Award honoree has been announced: Entercom Communications President/CEO David Field will be recognized at the Radio Luncheon on Sept. 6. in Austin, Texas.

Field leads the fourth-largest radio broadcasting company in the United States, which will grow to an even larger size after it completes a merger with CBS Radio. Pending FCC approval of the deal, Entercom will have over 240 stations and roughly $1.6 billion in revenues, making it the second-largest radio broadcaster in the country — up from 15 stations in the 1990s.

In the announcement, NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David credited Field’s “passion for radio and business savvy” with leading Entercom to success.

Prior to becoming Entercom’s president in 1998, Field served in multiple positions with the company, including chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Before joining Entercom, he was an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York.

Field has served as chairman of the NAB Radio Board, as well as the board of directors of Entercom, the National Constitution Center, The Wilderness Society, and on the Madison Council of the Library of Congress.

The 2017 Radio Show, produced by the NAB and the RAB, will be held Sept. 5-8 in Austin.
