Smith Joins IDC Board of Directors

BlackBerry alum will advise International Datacasting

International Datacasting Corp. has appointed David J. Smith to its board of directors.

Throughout his 30-year career in technology and telecommunications, Smith has served in a variety of roles and has international business experience.

As the executive vice president of enterprise mobile computing at BlackBerry Inc., Smith successfully led the introduction of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for multiple devices, including Apple, Android and BlackBerry 10 devices. He also served as a business and technology leader on a range of products and services for Bell-Northern Research and Nortel. Smith was responsible for the development and launch of wireless location-based services and in the 1990s was the product manager for one of Nortel’s data networking products.

The Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, led by Peter Strom, is continuing to evaluate board performance and to recommend candidates for election at the company’s annual general meeting, slated for July 2014.

International Datacasting Corp. is a provider of digital content distribution solutions for radio, television, data and digital cinema broadcasters.
