Since LPFM is a topic du jour, prospective applicants will be interested to know that the FCC released its updated, online Low-Power FM Channel Finder tool for public use.
The tool is designed to provide prospective available FM channels at entered NAD 27 longitude and latitude coordinates. The tool includes the recently waived third-adjacent channel spacing requirements.
Lest users get TOO excited, the FCC notes in its instructions on the page that the tool is not a guarantor of availability of any channel produced. And as RW has reported, the FCC is still considering modifications to LPFM regulations, including possible second-adjacent and sub-100 W waivers.
