Revo Receiver Offers DAB, FM and iPod Docking

Domino D3 also builds in access to Last.fm, by subscription

This text corrects an earlier version of this story.

Will the parade of “enhanced radios” we’re seeing in the international marketplace pick up steam?

A new multi-platform receiver offering is out from U.K. manufacturer Revo. The Domino D3 is a digital radio with a large number of features packed into a small tabletop box.

On the broadcast side, the Domino D3 receives DAB and DAB+ digital radio as well as FM (with RDS). Using a back-panel Ethernet port or onboard Wi-Fi, the D3 can access Internet radio and streaming audio sites. A complimentary 30-day subscription to Last.fm, the Internet music streamer now owned by CBS, is included.

The Domino D3 also has an iPod/iPhone dock, should radio offerings prove disappointing.

An OLED screen displays information. The exterior is coated with a rubberized substance. The single speaker is an NXT “Balanced Radiator.” Also included is an alarm clock function and a remote control.
