Deva to Make HD-R Monitors, Receivers in Bulgaria

This is an expansion of Ibiquity’s efforts to establish its technology in Europe.

Bulgarian broadcast equipment manufacturer Deva Broadcast Ltd. has signed a license with Ibiquity Digital to manufacture HD Radio professional receivers and monitors.

This is an expansion of Ibiquity’s efforts to establish its technology in Europe. The company has been active in developing business partnerships in Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Switzerland and Thailand, it says.

Deva was founded in 1997 as a broadcasting and telecom equipment importer for Bulgaria and Eastern Europe, according to its Web site. Its line now includes low- and medium-power transmitters, RDS/RBDS encoders and decoders, mod monitors and remote controls. It eventually moved into manufacturing as well.

Ibiquity said Deva will develop, build and market HD Radio broadcast AM and FM monitors and professional receivers.

Deva’s Todor Ivanov said the company has budgeted $600,000 for investment in development of HD Radio products.
