VOA Freelancer Beaten in Kosovo

VOA said a longtime freelance reporter was beaten and threatened in her home in Kosovo this week “in retaliation for her reporting.”

VOA said a longtime freelance reporter was beaten and threatened in her home in Kosovo this week “in retaliation for her reporting.”

It said Vesna Bojicic has vowed to keep reporting despite the threats. She’s worked for VOA for seven years. Officials said her attacker was dressed in camouflage attire and wore military-style boots and a ski mask. He pushed his way into her apartment, beat her and verbally assaulted and threatened her, “alluding to her reporting for VOA,” the organization said.

Bojicic told VOA in an interview, “I will report on events in Kosovo until the last day, regardless of what Kosovo minority or Kosovo majority think, regardless of what Serbs or Albanians think. I’ll do my job.”
