An organization of broadcast equipment manufacturers is putting up money to help a school or training organization develop or expand a course for broadcast engineering.
IABM, based in the U.K., said it is making available the equivalent of about $40,000. The Tom McGann Training Award “rewards training development and delivery in an industry where highly skilled engineers are becoming scarce.” The late McGann was chairman of IABM, an industry body that represents broadcast and media technology suppliers.
The deadline for applications is June 30; the award presentation will take place in September at the IBC in Amsterdam.
