Scott Beeler Found Dead in Crashed Car

Equipment sales executive Scott Beeler was found dead after his car apparently went off an embankment in the Cincinnati area Wednesday night or early Thursday morning as he returned from a business meeting.
Beeler was well known to the radio engineering and manufacturing communities from his work as director of worldwide sales for antenna company ERI and, before that, for Harris Corp. and Allied. He was director of North American Radio Sales when he left Harris for ERI in early 2001.
He was a frequent presence at convention booths and in business negotiations with clients. Jim Meleski, the COO of ERI, said he was to have met with Beeler and Clear Channel’s Jeff Littlejohn this week. Meleski, deeply emotional as he spoke to Radio World about the accident, called Beeler “one of the most professional people I’ve ever known.” Numerous Harris employees found out about the death of their former colleague during a sales meeting in Florida.
A family member said Beeler’s wife had become concerned when he didn’t return home and called police. His car was found by a highway crew. It was not immediately known whether the car crash was the cause of his death.
