XM Program Team Grows

XM Satellite Radio hired 6 program directors this week:
Pat Dinizio, founder, lead vocalist and principal songwriter for “The Smithereens,” is the PD for the channel targeted at unsigned bands and independent labels.
Russ Davis, former VOA “Jazz America” host, is the PD for the modern jazz and new age channels. Eddie Kilroy, founder of Eddie Kilroy Productions for Nashville artists, is PD for one of XM’s country channels.
President and program director for FAT Music Radio Network Felton Pruitt is now PD of XM’s bluegrass channel.
Bill Schmalfeldt, previously of WGUF(FM),Naples, Fla. Will program the channel dedicated to Broadway and show tunes while Emma Wilson, formerly of MTV, is the new program director for the youth channel.
XM also hired 8 music directors:
Brian Chamberlain is the MD for the soft alternative channel focusing on the more mellow side of modern music. He is the former program director and show host for Discjockey.com.
Trinity Colón joins XM to work on the contemporary jazz channel from WLVE(FM)Miami.
Dan Dixon joins XM from WKKO(FM), Toledo, Ohio as MD for one of the country channels.
Dermot Hussey, a native Jamaican and producer for the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation Radio Network, is the MD on XM’s reggae channel.
Austin’s KAMX(FM)’s Patrick Lemiuex is now the MD on one of XM’s dance channels.
Curt Mathies comes to XM from WRVG(FM), Lexington, Ky. As MD for the alternative country channel.
Crystal McKenzie joins XM as the music director for the 80’s channel. She’s worked as an on-air personality in markets including Orlando and Daytona Beach, Chicago, Indianapolis and Sacramento.
Tobi joins XM from KCXX-FM/Riverside/San Bernardino as the music director on XM’s college/alternative channel.
