Report Reveals N.Y. Revenues Rise

New York Market Radio Advertising revenues for January-April of this year increased by nearly 40% over the same period in 1999, totaling $251.8 million.
For the month of April, ad sales rose 37.5% to $70.7 million. This marks the fourth consecutive month when revenues had increased 35% more than the previous year, according to the accounting firm Miller, Kaplan Arase & Co.
Local sales for the first four months increased by 32.3% to $200.8 million, while national business for January-April 2000, rose 64% to $51 million. This April, local ad revenues were up 33.6% to $57 million, while national sales increased 55.9% to $13.7 million.
