Australian product supplier OnAir Solutions announced its purchase of Sonifex’s Australian operations.
The merger is effective July 1. OnAir Solutions will move into Sonifex’s Sydney office, which is located in the suburb of Hornsby.
The new OnAir Solutions Group comprises the existing OnAir Solutions for broadcast and A/V products, Sonifex Australia for Sonifex products and iTkey for timing and sync solutions.
A release said that the merger will double the resources of both OnAir Solutions and Sonifex.
Websites, phone numbers and email contacts will remain the same, the release said. Customers and suppliers will receive more information the week of July 8.
Sonifex CEO Marcus Brooke said that the company has worked closely with OnAir Solutions for over a decade, including on their projects for Australian Broadcasting Corporation. “I cannot think of a better company to purchase our Australian business operations,” he said.

Sonifex Australia General Manager Karen Olliver becomes general manager for the OnAir Solutions Group. She said it will be “business as usual” for clients and suppliers, while continuing to offer the service and support that customers have come to expect.
OnAir Solutions was founded in 2010 in Sydney. It has supplied radio and TV stations, universities and enterprise operations.
Sonifex UK started its Australian distribution office in 2014 through the purchase of Innescorp. It is the Australian importer for Sonifex products, Nautel transmitters, Orban processors and Inovonics Broadcast products.
Sonifex Australia is also a reseller of Tieline codecs to Australian broadcasters.
