Nautel has been raising eyebrows with some high-profile hires in recent months; now it has added another familiar name — one who started in the biz at almost exactly the same time Nautel was founded 40 years ago.
John Abdnour has joined the company as regional sales manager for Asia and the Pacific region.
Nautel Director of Sales Chuck Kelly made the announcement and noted that Abdnour is known widely through his sales work and because he has attended every NAB convention since 1976 along with numerous other shows.
Abdnour has worked in the industry for 40 years; Nautel itself turns 40 this year.
Abdnour is former national RF accounts manager for Broadcast Electronics. Before that he worked for 20 years as Midwest District sales manager for Continental Electronics, at International Tapetronics Corp. and in radio station engineering and programming.
He’ll be based in his home of Streator, Ill.
