ABC Radio will begin offering affiliates three hour-long specials to commemorate Memorial Day this year starting Thursday, May 22.
The programs will focus on three traditional aspects of the holiday and the summer season it begins: commemorating the service of military veterans, baseball and movies.
“America’s Heroes: Memorial Day in a Time of War” will examine how Americans remember fallen servicemen and women. Sen. John McCain will narrate.
For the other two specials, ABC Sports Radio correspondent Johnny Holliday will examine the sport of summer in “Baseball 2003: Fans, Fights and Fun — The National Pasttime,” and ABC News correspondent Chris Cuomo will preview the summer’s slate of new movies in “Blockbusters at the Box Office: Summer Movies 2003.”
