The Aphex Compellor is now available with both digital and analog I/O. The company said the Model 320D combines the features of the Compellor in a format accessible for all-digital facilities. In particular it is aimed at applications that receive or send bit-rate-reduced audio.
A rear-panel switch selects digital or analog input; both the digital and analog outputs are always live. The AES3 digital output is sampled at the same rate as the digital input up to 96 kHz. If there is no digital input it is sampled at 32, 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz. Retail price is $1,495.
