APT to Debut New IP Codecs

APT will show a new series of audio codecs for broadcasters when it exhibits at the IBC exhibition in September in Amsterdam.
The company is emphasizing the ability to transport audio over IP, which it notes as becoming increasingly sought after by radio and television networks.
Commercial Director Jon McClintock announced the “new generation of IP-based codecs” which he said are more flexible and interoperable in terms of transport links and audio algorithms.
“The identity and feature set of the new product range remains a closely guarded secret pending the launch at IBC, but the new products in the range will include an IP-based stereo codec and a multi-algorithm, IP and X.21 codec,” the company stated.
