Radio programmers visiting Arbitron will now get a taste of digital radio while they wait in the lobby.
The ratings company said it is showcasing an HD Radio near the front door of its Technology and Research Center in Columbia, Md.
“HD Radio stations are emerging rapidly as broadcasters adopt the new technology. There are currently 962 stations across the United States,” a spokeswoman for Arbitron stated. “Employees and visitors can listen to the digital sound of 52 HD Radio stations from the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Md., areas, including 13 with multicast formats.”
The model is a Boston Acoustics Recepter HD.
