Arbitron Switches 2007 PPM Launch to Philly; No Accreditation Yet

Arbitron has updated its 2007 rollout schedule for the Portable People Meter. It appears Philadelphia, rather than Houston, will be the first market to launch the electronic audience measurement system in January.
The Fall 2006 diary-based ratings report would be the “currency” in the market until the release of the March 2007 PPM ratings report. The January and February 2007 PPM radio ratings reports would be released as demonstration data.
Houston, the PPM demo market since 2005, would switch from diaries to the PPM after Arbitron obtains Media Rating Council accreditation for that market.
Arbitron President/CEO Steve Morris said the MRC did not grant Arbitron accreditation at its Nov. 15 meeting, but that the list of question areas has narrowed and the audience research firm would work with the MRC to address issues of concern.
