HD-R proponents are upbeat about Ford’s intention to begin factory installs of HD Radio receivers across its Ford, Lincoln and Mercury products next year.
Critics say it can’t happen soon enough.
The company announced a dealer-install program last September that covers current- and previous-model years.
Factory-installed HD-R receivers will be available as standard or optional equipment, joining other OEM technologies – including SYNC and the company’s next-generation of navigation with Sirius Travel Link.
Pricing was not announced.
