Nigerians can now get the latest news from the BBC on their mobile phones. BBC World Service radio is collaborating with ZenoRad
io to give on-demand radio access to any mobile phone on any mobile network in Nigeria in either English or Hausa.
According to the broadcaster, all 132 million active mobile devices in Nigeria can now access BBC World Service programs, with English language programs, including “Newsday” and “Focus on Africa,” streaming live around the clock and programs in Hausa streamed live at 6:30 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. local time, then repeated until the next program is broadcast.
Users in the country can access the service by dialing 01 4405 222 and chose the language they prefer. Calls are charged at a normal rate, according to network packages and tariffs.
