One of the big questions NAB radio attendees are asking about digital radio is “where are the receivers?” Several companies are attempting to provide answers.
Boston Acoustics plans to ship its Recepter Radio HD in June. The unit is one of the first home HD Radios to become available and one of the first to be able to decode multiple digital signals, said the manufacturer. A compact satellite speaker, allowing for stereo reception, will be included in the package.
“With multicasting very close to taking off, June is an ideal time to launch” the radio, said Stephen Shenefield, director of product development.
The radio has a stereo input for iPods or other external sources, as well as a stereo headphone output.
Price has not been announced.
