2024 Spirit of College Radio Award Winners Announced

World College Radio Day organizers chose 10 stations that shined in the global event celebrating student radio

The organizers of World College Radio Day have announced the winners of the 2024 Spirit of College Radio Awards.

World College Radio Day was held on Oct. 4 this year. The event, founded in 2010 by Dr. Rob Quicke, celebrates college radio stations worldwide. Out of the hundreds of stations that participated this year, the organizers chose 10 that “embody the passion and mission of college radio,” according to a release.

The 2024 Spirit of College Radio Award winners are:

  • Aggie Radio 92.3 KBLU(LP) — Utah State University (USA)
  • Conexión Abierta — Universidad Abierta Interamericana (Argentina)
  • Juice FM — Cork (Ireland)
  • 91.9 KWSC(FM) “The Cat” — Wayne State College (USA)
  • Radio Mitchell — Mitchell College (USA)
  • Unica Radio — Università degli Studi di Cagliari (Italy)
  • 90.5 WERG(FM) — Gannon University (USA)
  • 90.3 WESS(FM) — East Stroudsburg University (USA)
  • WOLF Radio and WOLF Sports Network — University of West Georgia (USA)
  • WXBC — Bard College (USA)

“This year, our theme for the day was ‘The Soundtrack of Democracy,’ and many stations produced 24 hours of extraordinary events and programming related to this theme,” Quicke said in the release. 

World College Radio Day is an outreach event of the College Radio Foundation, which supports student radio including online, cable, carrier current, FM and AM outlets.
