Cambridge Soundworks Introduces Soundworks Radio 820HD

Another receiver manufacturer plans to make HD Radios.
Cambridge SoundWorks plans to ship a tabletop HD Radio to retailers in November; it will retail for just under $300.
This is the third IBOC tabletop, in addition to the Boston Acoustics and Polk Audio products.
The Cambridge SoundWorks Radio 820HD stereo table radio is capable of receiving multicast signals in addition to HD Radio main signals. A telescoping antenna supports the FM band, while a large internal ferrite antenna supports the AM band. Using the auxiliary input, owners can hear their MP3, CD, DVD player or PC playback.
Consumers can buy the tabletop model at Cambridge SoundWorks retail locations such as Fry’s Electronics, J&R Music and Computer World and Amazon.com, through the Cambridge Web site or through its catalog.
The company plans to release a rack-mount component tuner in the same timeframe and for the same price, aimed at installers.
The news was announced at the CEDIA Expo, a convention for custom CE installers.
