CEI Merges with Hodge Structural Engineers

Davies and Barnett remain with the firm

Ernie Jones is gone, but Consolidated Engineering Inc., the business he helped lead, will continue in a new incarnation.

Hodge Structural Engineers will merge with CEI. “The merger will allow for the continuation of Consolidated Engineering Inc. services of design, installation, alteration, maintenance and analysis of antenna towers throughout the United States,” Hodge stated in an announcement. It did not announce the business terms.

HSE is a structural engineering consulting firm that offers engineering services for buildings, towers and tanks, among others. Both HSE and CEI are based in Indiana.

As Radio World reported, Jones died in an accident atop a tower in Oklahoma City. CEO Gray Hodge called him “an incredible man [who] led many of the innovations and standards within the tower industry. We are merging to continue his legacy and provide an expanded level of expertise and capabilities to tower owners and operators.”

Dave Davies and Keith Barnett will remain with the firm. “We intend to have a seamless transition,” Hodge was quoted. The merged organization offers licensed Professional Engineers in 48 states.
