City of Lille to Hold DAB+ Launch Event

June 19 gathering will officially inaugurate digital radio in the Hauts-de-France region

The city of Lille is organizing a special DAB+ launch event in collaboration with France’s broadcast regulator, the Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel.

The event, held at the the Palais de la Bourse of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lille on June 19 at 11 a.m., will bring together radio professionals as well as local and national politicians.  

In addition to celebrating the launch of DAB+ in Lille and the Hauts-de-France region, the gathering also marks the implementation of France’s new digital radio timetable that sees DAB+ services beginning in Lyon, Strasbourg, Rouen, Le Havre, Nantes, Bordeaux, and Toulouse in the coming months.

Speakers during the event include Yann Orpin, CCI Greater Lille president; François Decoster, V.P. of the Hauts-de-France Region in charge of culture; David Assouline, V.P of the senate and member of the committee on culture, education and communication; Nicolas Curien, CSA advisor and chairman of the radio working group; Heike Raab, state secretary plenipotentiary of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, for Europe, media and digital; and Patrick Hannon, WorldDAB president.
