Clear Channel radio revenue increased 1% in the second quarter compared to a year ago.
Helping the gain, average unit rates for 15-, 30- and 60-second commercials increased in the mid-size markets.
Radio operating expenses decreased $6.7 million.
Overall, Clear Channel Communications had revenues of $1.8 billion in the second quarter, up 5% from a year ago. Operating expenses increased 6%. Mark Mays said the company’s focus “remains on transitioning our assets to meet the shifting demands of our audiences, as well as our advertisers.”
The date and time of a shareholder meeting to OK the pending acquisition by private equity funds has not been set yet.
