According to Commercial Radio Australia, the digital radio industry in the land down under has launched a Christmas ad campaign promoting a two-for-one deal on 42 commercial radio stations. The promotions can be heard on-air in the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide markets, which cover the country’s major metropolitan areas.
The four 30-second long ads were produced by specialist radio ad agency Eardrum for the campaign. Sound quality and program choice were also pushed as benefits for users of digital radio, in addition to the December price special offered by retailers Dick Smith, JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman.
In addition to the on-air ads, the stations’ websites will feature banner ads, which can also be found on trade media sites.
The push comes after a similar campaign held around Father’s Day, which saw an increase of sales to a total of 94,655 digital radios in Quarter 3 alone.
