Congressmen to Participate at Radio Show

NAB said U.S. Reps. Greg Walden, Republican from Oregon, and Jay Inslee, Democrat from Washington, will take part in its annual Congressional Breakfast during the upcoming NAB Radio Show.
The session is on Saturday Sept. 14.
Walden is a broadcaster, owning stations in Oregon; he was recently appointed to the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications. An NAB official said Walden has been ” a friend to our industry for some time.”
Inslee is author and chief sponsor of legislation dealing with the restrictive role of copyright on Internet radio. He introduced the “Internet Radio Fairness Act” this summer, aimed at easing the burden of Web fees on small Webcasters.
Several congressional staffers will participate in a separate session that day.
