Consultant John Allen Dies

FAA consultant John P. Allen passed away earlier this month at the age of 59.
According to his business partner Mary C. Lowe, Allen started his career as an air traffic controller, first with the Air Force, then the FAA. He founded his consulting firm in 1981, analyzing federal rules for clients who wanted to put up towers and buildings.
“In one instance he arranged for one of his clients to buy and move an airport, thus permitting the construction of a new tower,” Lowe said.
Allen was a member of the Fernandina Beach Optimist Club, the Florida Sheriff’s Association, the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers and the NAB. He died after a lengthy illness.
Lowe joined the firm in 1994 and became president earlier this year. She will continue to run the company.
