Continental Electronics Names New President

Robert “Tony” Grimes is now president of transmitter manufacturer Continental Electronics and responsible for all day-to-day operations.
He replaces John Uvodich, who had been president since 2001. Uvodich left to pursue another opportunity, a spokeswoman said. Uvodich came to Continental from Metric Systems, which had been Continental’s parent. Veritas Capital, a private equity investment firm, has owned Continental since March 2005.
Grimes comes to Continental Electronics after serving as president of TRAK Microwave Corp. and on the board of directors for Radyne Corp. He also served as manager of international projects for Harris Corp. He has a background in RF, including 20 years of engineering design, marketing and sales, organizational development and presidential leadership, according to the company.
Grimes stated: “With the digital revolution sweeping into U.S. and international markets for broadcasting and scientific applications, we have tremendous opportunities to expand our leadership role in cutting-edge technologies such as HD Radio and HF/DRM systems.”
