Cumulus Media has appointed Kathy Smith as vice president and market manager for its six radio stations in Eugene, Ore. Additionally, Toledo’s WKKO(FM) Program Director and Morning Show Host Gary Shores will pass the PD role to Jerry Mac, and the company named David LaBrozzi as program director for New York station WPLJ(FM).
Smith previously served as general sales manager for Alpha Media’s seven radio stations in Portland, Ore., and prior to that, she was director of strategic sales and marketing and general sales manager for Entercom Communications’ six-station cluster in Portland.
Jerry Mac is an Ohio native who most recently served as operations manager for Community Broadcasters in Elmira, N.Y. He previously held radio programming and on-air positions in markets such as Hendersonville, N.C.; St. Cloud, Minn.; Youngstown, Ohio; Canton, Ohio; Pittsburgh; and Wilmington, N.C.
Mac will assume the PD position at WKKO on June 11, but Gary Shores will retain his role as host of “Mornings on K100.” Shores has programmed WKKO for the 33 years and has been with the station for an additional decade.
David LaBrozzi joins the cluster from Entercom Baltimore, where he was VP of programming for the company’s four-station cluster for 14 years. Prior to that, he was regional vice president of programming for Clear Channel/iHeart Media, overseeing stations in Pittsburgh; Wheeling, W.Va.; and Johnstown, Pa. LaBrozzi’s career includes programming stops in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Texas, and Nashville, Tenn.
Cumulus Media combines local programming with nationally syndicated brands through its 445 owned-and-operated stations, approximately 8,000 broadcast radio stations affiliated with its Westwood One network and digital channels.
