Sirius Satellite Radios will be available as a dealer-installed option from Daimler-Chrysler Corporation beginning late this summer in a number of 2003 models. This makes the second automotive company that has agreed to an exclusive relationship with Sirius, before a receiver interoperability pact with XM went into effect. BMW Corporation announced a similar deal in October of 2001.
DaimlerChrysler plans to offer Sirius service in new Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Mercedes-Benz vehicles this fall as a dealer-installed option and as a factory-installed option on select vehicles for the 2003 model year. Mercedes-Benz also expects to offer Sirius in a number of vehicle lines at its U.S. dealerships in 2003.
