Silicon Graphics Inc. won a $20 million contract to provide a news production, digital asset management and archive system to Danmarks Radio, Denmark's public state broadcaster in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A test system will be installed to produce two short daily newscasts, and the $2 million pilot project will begin this fall.
Production storage for digital radio, television and multimedia will be standardized for DR on a common IT platform.
Several SGI products will be integrated into the DR system, including SGI's Media Server, its library asset management software, StudioCentral, and Data Migration Facility, a hierarchical storage management system.
