‘Democracy Now’ Highlights LPFM Expansion

Rousset of Prometheus: "The work that we do over the next four months will really help shape the course of this country's media landscape for the next 40 years"

Low-power FM radio advocates are excited about the pending expansion of the service, and as RW has reported the FCC has now set dates for the filing window. Acting FCC Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn has said she hopes potential licensees “will galvanize in the next four months” to prepare.

The topic now draws the attention of public media TV program “Democracy Now,” which here spends nine minutes on it, with Jeff Rousset, the national organizer of the Prometheus Radio Project, and Ramon Ramirez, the president of PCUN, a Latino organization in Oregon which launched an LPFM seven years ago.
