Deutsche Welle Launches on Public Radio Exchange

PRX members will be able to download and broadcast weekly news and feature magazines, as well as special-interest programs on the environment, popular culture and the arts.

Deutsche Welle Radio will begin making much of its content available to U.S. public radio stations in April via the Public Radio Exchange server-based radio network.

PRX members will be able to download and broadcast weekly news and feature magazines, as well as special-interest programs on the environment, popular culture and the arts.

Later this spring, Deutsche Welle also will make available some of its individual feature reports for use within local and regional magazine programs.

Deutsche Welle programs available in April include the news magazine “Inside Europe” and weekly feature programs “Eurovox,” “Living Planet” and the youth-oriented “Cool” magazine. Also launching in April is “Inspired Minds,” a series of sound-rich modules profiling creative people.

Deutsche Welle currently makes its two major news magazines available in the United States through the PRSS Content Depot including the live, hour-long nightly news magazine, “Newslink” and its weekly “Inside Europe.”
