Digital Alert Systems Signs Strategic Alliance

Agreement aimed at interoperability with Comlabs’ EMnet

Digital Alert Systems and its parent Monroe Electronics have announced a “strategic alliance” with Communications Laboratories (Comlabs) designed to assure interoperability between DAS and Monroe products and Comlabs’ Emergency Management Network satellite messaging system.

Comlabs CEO Roland Lussier said: “Our alliance with Monroe Electronics and DAS allows us to combine the power and redundancy of EMnet with the strength and versatility of the DASDEC and One-Net product lines in a seamless end-to-end solution with the most advanced capabilities available. EMnet-equipped DASDEC or One-Net users will be able to take full advantage of EMnet while ensuring both FCC compliance and FEMA compatibility.”

Senior Director for Strategy, Development and Regulatory Affairs for Monroe Electronics Edward Czarnecki said: “Through our alliance with Comlabs, we’re enabling the broadcast and cable communities to achieve compliance with mandated CAP EAS requirements while gaining all the functionality of the EMnet system.”

The affected products are the DAS DASDEC-II, DASLC (and ‘R’ version) and the Monroe Electronics One-Net CAP EAS emergency alert management units. EMnet is a satellite-based emergency messaging system popular with federal, state, county and city government agencies, especially emergency management agencies.
