The FCC fined Jason Konarz, licensee of WQMA(AM), Marks, Miss., $20,000 for failure to install and maintain operational Emergency Alert System equipment, failure to operate consistent with authorized power levels and discontinue operating at night, and failure to make available for inspection all of the required materials in the station’s public inspection file.
The penalty stemmed from July of this year. The agency says it received no reply to the original notice so it reaffirmed the penalty, which is due within 30 days.
