Engineers Do Well Salary-Wise at Christian Stations

In a salary survey of Christian music broadcasters, the average compensation for top executives was $56,956 a year. Chief engineers did well at $50,190.
For operations director, program director, assistant manager, compensation ranged from $42,000-$53,400. Fund development ranged from $23,300-$36,300; administrative assistants: $11,000-$26,100.
For on-air staff, morning drive salaries were from $31,600-$42,300. Daytime personalities earned an average of $31,600 and staff announcers averaged $26,600. News directors averaged $35,200. Local sales managers: $57,000. Music directors averaged $29,900.
70 stations from various size markets participated in the survey, reflecting a range of station market sizes.
