Entercom Communications Corp. will remove an eight-foot tall fence from one of its facilities in a neighborhood in the Kansas City, Kan., area.
Neighbors had complained several times to the city of Westwood about the barbed wire-topped perimeter fence, which surrounds towers for KMBZ(AM) and KWOD(AM), as well as a building the broadcaster no longer uses.
Entercom Market Manager Dave Alpert told the Westwood City Council the broadcaster would remove the fence “to be a good neighbor,” reports the Prairie Village Post.
The towers and guy wires will remain fenced.
The city council approved a special use permit that enables Entercom to continue to use the eight-acre site, provided the broadcaster keeps the property repaired and clean.
